Born in Belgium, Dansesouslalune was at early age attracted to Music
At 6, flute and piano learning permits him to awake his interest in music.
This attract was enhanced by theory, piano and clarinet lessons in different belgian school of music until 18.
These long years of study induced a strong basis in the areay of music theory (harmony,...) and the different musical styles.
At the same time, 90's popular music (grunge, punk, hip hop) arouses curiosity. That's the reason why at the age of 14, he begins to learn guitar by himself.
in 1996, his meeting with the musician Pevin Kinel leads to the first jams and first recording on 4 tracks tape recorder.
In 1998, as his learning in clarinet and piano comes to an end, he starts learning violin.
At the same time, meeting with members of Bourfart collective opens his mind to jazz. This periods comes with a great amount of tracks recorded on 4 tracks tape recorder.
These tracks were never published.
Near 2000, his interest was also attracted to electroni music. Hours spent with Technics and Roloand groove box have developped his interest in sample and repetitive music.
In 2002, he meets Paueyl (artist and band) which was the start of years collaboration. Hours of training and concert in the vicinity of Liège give him his first scene experience with original songs and cover of 60-7 's music (Van der raaf Generator) This collaboration ends until end of year 2004.
After this period, discovery of musical creation software (Cubase, Fruityloop, ...) coming with his acquired knowledge results in the production of many ecclectic tracks that could mix the repetetive Fruityloop sample or groove box sound with free jazz improvisation with clarinet.
Some of tracks as "In the Land of Nowhere" or "Why not" available in the Newsletter are coming from this period.
In 2007, "Forêt blanche" is born. The well balanced mix between guitar and piano, as well as the good understanding between the 2 musicians gives birth to an album recorded in Bluemix studio. This album, markd with classical, flamenco and world music with some touch of pop, is a success. Unfortunately, it will never be published.
After 2009, Dansesouslalune musical activity reaches a certain stand by, at least with recording.
It is not before 2011 that the wish to create more complex music comes back. During this period, all tracks were recorded on mini-Mac computer connected to family television.
In 2013, a strong passion for open source music software (lmms, hydrogen, seq24, Qtractor) reignits the diminished fire. After hours of compiling, tests, recording and thanks to acquisition of more up to date material (mix table, pads,...), a great amount of semi-professional self producted tracks are available in 2014. These tracks are also available in the Newsletter ("Insane", "Neo Grunge","It's falling from the Stars", "Love always stays",...).
In 2015, the culmination of this electronic period is the acquisition of Novation launchpad. The way to launch and change sample is not without remembering use of Roland groovebox in early 2000. This time recorded samples are not only numeric but also analogic. 2015 is the beginning of upload of Dansesouslalune singles ("Hello", "Listen", "Sky") on Jamendo website.
Thereafter, the desire to write a more intimist and well finished album takes one year to adjust all details. This album is the first album of Dansesouslalune. It is a melancholic album, with melody written in minor mode are given birth on the piano. "One Day" is released on Jamendo in 2017. Later, this album is published on the main music streaming platform (Deezer, Spotify, Apple Music,...).
During year 2018, trip-hop makes his comeback. Sounds mixed with hip-pop, pop, as well as interest in repetitve instrumental music (DJ Krush, DJ Shadow) result in a new album "Child of Mother Earth" released in December 2018. This album aims to deepen work on electronic sound using oscillation in effects and drums.
All year along, Dansesouslalune work is a story of meeting, share and friendship.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed.
